Missing you

Dear Mia,

It's been 12 long days since we left Guatemala and said goodbye to you. In these 12 days we've visited many new places and saw many new things, but nothing that compares to just hanging out at home with you. When we think about you, a lot of fun moments come to mind.

We miss the way you hog the couch.

We miss it when you tug on your leash.

We miss it when you hang out on the bed.

We miss going swimming in the river with you.

But most of all we just miss seeing your pretty face everyday!

We hope you have had fun playing with Uncle Carlos & Aunt Britt, Alan & Louise and your new girlfriends at the crazy lady's house in San Cristobal. We know it seems like we've been away forever and we promise you that we'll be back soon, but papi and I still have a couple of more places to see before we come back to you. Don't worry though, we promise that we won't leave you for this long ever again. In the meantime think about all the great memories that we've made and dream up some new ones for our trip home through Mexico. We love you Measy Peasy Pumpkin Pie.

XOXO,
Mami & Papi

Nos vemos!

Do you remember my first big adventure? The one where I showed mami & papi that I really am an adventure pup? We went to the big kite festival with our friend Alan & Louise! I was so teeny tiny back then. Look!

Well guess who's moving in with me? That's right - Alan & Louise! My new auntie & uncle, Tia Louisa & Tio Alan are going to live right here in my house!

While I'm super excited to have them come to our house and give me lots of attention, I'm also a little bit sad because mami and papi are leaving for a while. They are going to do some traveling that they have wanted to do for a long time. They're going to visit the rest of Central America - Costa Rica, Panama & Nicaragua, plus Colombia! They said that even though they wish I could go with them, it will be a whole lot safer to travel without me. Tear.

When they come back though, I get to do some major traveling of my own. We're all going to pack up Dewey and take a big long road trip to the United States of America. I'm gonna be a Guatemalan-American! So while they're gone, I'm getting all my papers together so that I don't have to sneak in illegally. We're planning to head back to Colorado through Arizona and I'm sure you've heard what they do to the people without their papers there.....so sad.

I know my tios will take great care of me, but I'm sure gonna miss mami & papi. They say they'll be home in no time, but I think it will feel like forever. Please keep them in your prayers and me too.

In the mean time, I'll be putting a halt to my blogging so that I can focus all my attention on my new job - showing Alan & Louise how things work at our house! See you all again in July!

Same old girl

Howdy friends! Today I wanted to show you how much I've grown.

Yes this photo was taken on the very same pretty floor at Hotel Aurora as the one that mami designed in my blog header. Some things are still the same though - I love cool tile floors on a hot Antigua day!

Boy oh boy have I grown, huh? I now weigh 50 lbs! It sounds like a lot, but really I'm kind of tiny in comparison to other dogs - like my brother Michael Jackson. Papi thinks he is at least 15 pounds bigger than me - he's taller than our dog mami! I wonder how much bigger I'll get?

Rooster Blues

Fast as fast can be - you'll never catch me! Especially when it comes to taking my Gallo away from me.

I'm sure you guys remember my very best buddy Gallo, right? Well it seems that lately I've loved on that little rooster a wittle too much! In the past month, mami has had to give Gallo 3 emergency surgeries. Poor little guy, his innards are coming out! I go crazy each time mami takes him off to the ER (ie. her bed) to stitch him up. Afterward I give him some gentle cuddles and then get back to roughing him up the next day.

Do any of you have a favorite little guy that is on his last leg? Please give me your advice on how to make my Gallo live forever! I just don't know what I'd do without him.

Meet my baby!

Yipee! She's finally here! Remember when I told you I was getting a brand new baby? We'll she's here. Her name is Sadie Lou and she's just as cute as a button. She a teddy bear Goldendoodle. Doesn't she look just like a little teddy?

She even looks a wee little bit like me when I was just a baby!

I haven't met my Sadie yet, but I hope that I will one day soon.

Sunday Funday

We have a routine in our family. Each and every Sunday morning (sometimes Saturdays too) we wake up bright and early (the crazy birds won't let us sleep!) and head out on a walk. We always go straight to the park where mami and papi get their morning beverage (coffee for the paps & chai for the mami). We relax and watch the people in the park and I usually get quite a bit of attention. Sometimes I even get to share a lick of their coffee too.

After mami and papi have gotten enough people watching in, we make our rounds. What that means is that we visit the little fountains in all four corners of the park, where I finally get my drink and even a little dip if I'm hot! Afterwards we make our way home where papi has some breakfast and mami usually waters the flowers (and I play in the water again).

What kind of routines do you have with your furry friends? I'm dying to know!
